Reserve Manager
Alix Roos serves as Reserve Manager of Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve. A fifth-generation Whidbey Island farmer, she brings deep local roots and experience in nonprofit leadership, having previously served as Executive Director of Friends of Ebey’s and as a Trust Board member. Her work is grounded in partnership, stewardship, and sustaining the Reserve’s working landscape.
Land Use & Preservation Consultant
Jason Benson brings more than 25 years of hands-on preservation experience and a deep familiarity with Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve. A former Reserve Preservation Coordinator and National Park Service preservationist, Jason has spent much of his career working to preserve the historic buildings and cultural landscape that define the Reserve.
As a contracted Land Use & Preservation Consultant, Jason provides technical expertise in historic preservation, land use, and design review. His work includes supporting the Historic Reserve Committee and Historic Preservation Commission review processes, assisting property owners with preservation and design questions, scenic easement monitoring, preservation planning, and coordinating with the Reserve’s local, state, and federal partners.
Jason also oversees the Ebey’s Forever Grant Program, helping connect owners of historic properties with resources to preserve and rehabilitate the Reserve’s historic buildings.
His combination of hands-on preservation experience and knowledge of the Reserve’s design review processes provides an important link between preservation policy and the practical work of caring for historic properties and the cultural landscape.
